Career

Her working career spans a period of about 31 years in the Civil Service, with various MDGs beginning at the International Secretariat, Ikoyi  in 1975 – 1979 as a Bilingual Administrator, taking notes, translating, and transcribing French to English. She then served in Nigeria’s National Assembly and the Senate for Foreign Affairs,under the late Senator Joseph Wayas; during President Shehu Shagari’s regime, coordinating the Senate Committee for Foreign Relations, affairs with Embassies, and all bilingual administration. She was also a part of the interpreting team at the Second World Black African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC 1977) held in Lagos during the administration of General Olusegun Obasanjo. She worked in the Federal Ministry of Information, in the External Publicity Division from 1984 – 1989. She later joined the Ministry of Culture & Social Welfare and Nigerian Copyright Council, which later became a Commission.  She attended as part of the Nigerian delegation to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) conference held in Geneva, Switzerland in 1994, and also the ARISTUS program in Budapest, Hungary, the same year, 1994.
